no matter what happens, benga remains a legend for 'emotions'
such a good tune
to the guys saying skrillex' production was best on SMANS, thats bullshit. tunes like scatta or kill everybody are way too repetitive and dull, the rest of the tunes are cookie cutter and scary monsters itself is insanely annoying.
but that tune he did with birdy nam nam, now that's some serious stuff. i actually listen to it every now and then.

Yeah I'm actually reconsidering based onthe strength of benga photoshops.
Benga wins because of Photoshop lols but I still think most of his music after and including Diary of an Afro Warrior is meh.

ast least benga has made some tunes i still play out
production technique is the thing i am concerned least with in dance music, it simply does not matter to me
usually its production technique over creativity,,,,

and even through hilux's stuff hasnt exactly broken any moulds, he bothers to make it sound slightly interesting (eg breakdowns, intros etc)
excuse my lack of explanation. its 3am, ive been fishing all night and im fucked on benzos.
big up.
i suppose i agree if we're talking about raw production quality and nothing else. i dont really rate anything benga's made in the last 3/4 years anyways.
but just going off of benga's classic records (still got love for those, always will), he's miles ahead in creativity and making actual music

totally with you. most of the tracks on the LP were pretty forgettable and the few that weren't were basically above average, but nothing special.

this
also that "i am benga" tv show
never been a big benga fan, find his tunes hit or miss. even the hits never get me too excited. thats just me tho, and i'm sure loads of peps love benga tunes.
i really enjoyed the benga tv show tho, really didn't have a clue what to expect but i really enjoyed it.
i wouldn't feel bad for the guy mate, benga seems like he couldn't be any happier. massive or not the guy is happy regardless.
Call benga what you like but he sure is a cool guy and he don't look like hes short of a few bob so he must be doing something right.

benga is trying to play skrillex's game musically. Advantage skrillex.

Vintage!
Benga is one of those people (see also Photek etc) who could basically spend the rest of his life producing HI-NRG eurodance and still be utterly unimpeachable on the basis of his old stuff. I'm not much into his recent stuff but fuck it, there are lots of other people I'm not feeling who didn't write Crunked Up...

the fuck you talking about? photek's been killing it for 2 decades now. Anyone who was mad overhow he ended up in drum and bass is a knob. Baltimore fucking killed. Can't explain how hard that tune went off
but anywho Photek did closer last year... and one of the dancefloor bangers of last year hands down
and his ep with Kuru is one of the best EDM 12"s of the year Fountainhead and No Agenda are amazing

yeah i got that.... it'd be like if skrillex tried to make a roots dubstep tune... he's on foreign turf
its about as gash as some of the juke tunes some dubstep folks make. if you're playing to the genre you're doing it wrong

would rather this on loop instead of a million mid-range Massive leads crammed into one tune any day of the week.
New school fanboys will disagree. But that's how I prefer em
