if you think there's nothing good going on between 100-200hz you seriously need pay more attention. this is an extremely important area for mid range bass, as well and kicks and snares. ALSO, fucking 808 kicks even go up to 200hz momentarily. so cutting this area is almost always a bad idea - seeing as how it rarely ever conflicts with your sub.
let's say your subs peak frequency is 120hz, why the fuck would you notch out up to 200hz on your mid? then there's just a gap there between 120-200. and i promise you're killing the weight.
so much of a tracks weight and fullness come from that area.
