I'd take a running jump off the landing and kick them down the stairs using their body to break my fall...

In reality, I'd probably shoot them in the leg/arse/crotch.

If you're allowing people to have gun to defend their home, the chances are the intruder will have one as well.

I'd rather neither are armed than both

The sight of me running at them naked is enough to scare any intruder off. My brother in-law unfortunately can testify to my willingness to defend my home this way. Poor bastard only popped round unannounced to see his sis.

Yeah defo. If I felt me or my family were in any sort of danger, then yes. If I heard someone downstairs breaking in, and they were going straight out, then no, probably not. I'd scope the situation out first.

Not about chasing them down the road after though, kind of lose the "defending my property" argument then.

The argument about people robbing out of necessity because they're poor or whatever is weak, imo. If your life's shit, don't try and make mine shit too.

I'd like to think i wouldn't shoot an intruder as i don't really think robbery is worthy of getting shot, you never know how you'd react in the situation if it came up though. If i caught an intruder bare hands, i'd definitely try beat him up a bit, so maybe if i had a gun i'd over react in the situation.

Guns are bad, having guns for defence makes the whole situation so much worse. As said before, rather two people un-armed than armed.

In a home robbery scenario I would run downstairs and use the opportunity to shoot my wifes dog.

Not married btw.

If someone did that to me they'd better kill me or go into hiding because I'd be dwelling on that while I'm in prison with no crotch....there would be revenge!

No, I don't think there is a valid argument for anyone to have a gun. Bar the police.

If a burglar came into my house, acknowledged my presence and still carried on burgling, then I'd do my very best to fuck him up. Guns are for pansies

He shot at intruders but the details were a little sketchy.

Never said anything about actually killing someone, though it's interesting to see someone make that jump without being prompted.
if you own a gun its either as a deterrant or to kill someone (in this situation)

and then below you say this

That's quite Freudian.

whats your point?

weird devils advocate

breaking into someones home with the intent to steal goods (99% of breaking and entering) =/= a crime worthy of being shot at

I'd guess that depends on the type of dog and type of sleeping pills.

on a somewhat irrelevant note, i remember pkay saying that if someone is firing a gun at you, there is a 'good' direction to run, what was it? left or right? something to do with most people being right handed therefore being better to move in a certain direction

Most people would be too busy shitting themselves to think about that

Guns are bad, m'kay.

If you're in my house I'll probably use whatever comes to hand. I should probably swallow my pride, call the police and sit tight until they arrive/you leave... but should is a difficult word when passion, loved ones and territory are involved.
Nevalo wrote:do you close your eyes whilst shooting?
Irrelevant aside: Apparently Clint Eastwood is one of the only actors that can fire a gun and not blink.

I see no problems with it. If you have the balls to break into my house, you'd better have the balls to take a gunshot to the leg. I already have a baseball bat by my bed.
