Ethiopian stuff? Like what?

Ron Carter on bass is god.

Hank Mobley on tenor is also bad.

All jazz counts. Except smooth jazz. That doesn't count.

I love Theo, but Mingus is playing other cats like a Steinway--pun intended.

Now you're trippin. There is nothing that counts more or less, other than in your own mind... Downtempo/jazz/nu jazz/funk... all these are what I initially got into music for... there is nothing wrong with kicking back to some smooth jazz.

Yep... 60s/70s blue note, early groundbreaking stuff...

anything but the lame watered down fusiongay "smooth jazz" that passes for jazz on mainstream radio these days...

You know how I do. I'm all about catering to every crowd when I play, as well... I play Heavy Lounge--I can get head nodding at a dinner table, people at the bar, and people on the dancefloor all jammin at the same time.

But I pay special attention to the ladies.

Wow, dubstep forum just gets better...

It's all about Miles Davis for me. Personally, I think Porgy & Bess beats out on the Corner by some margin, but most people don't agree with me :)...
