As long as he releases every now and then a 140 banger like his Medi stuff, I couldn't care less what he's up to the rest of the time.
Btw there were talks of a Skream & Hijak EP on Medi being released at some point, possibly featuring this:
And I was soooo hoping they would include a tune which I can't find back right now, can't remember the name, there was a radio rip on Youtube, the picture was wicked as well, like some kind of evil spirits floating in a parallel world, with eyes glowing... Anyone knows the one I'm talking about? It was dark as fuck and sooo sooooo good.

I thought this thread would be about getting true headz approval/ authenticity from skream.

Although man's made many great tunes, his credibility with me took a big hit in 2009 when he straight ripped off someone else's tune and called it his own. I haven't really bothered trying to follow him from then on out.
on a serious note, people were saying the same thing when he started doing vocal remixes and tearout 4 years ago, and stated that he wont be focusing on producing dark introvert bangers for the 'heads' - so that 2-step comment is actually spot on
an artist evolving is usually a good thing; at least it shows courage.

he did that with 2D as well (which were a keyboard preset). still a dope tune, and he added a lot of elements - I don't see the problem.

That would be postmodernism at its finest: when people don't even know/care who they're ripping off anymore.
Nobody merely references predecessors these days: they cannibalize them.

totally. I feel that Blue Eyez thing's a bit of a non-issue. How many bootleg versions of Sleng Teng riddim sprung up after the original dropped etc

Sont really get this subject? He's doing what he wants to be doing, makin some money at the same time. Just cos he was around for the start of dubstep doesnt mean that's all he's ever liked and even if he's changed music tastes since becoming more famous, who gives a fuck? If you don't like the stuff he plays these days don't go see him and if you do, have fun.
Don't see why this is constantly debated really. Even if you think he has sold out, who cares? Has it destroyed your life so much that you feel the need to complain about it all the time?
Yeh I prefer Skream's older tunes but just cos hes not playing all dubstep doesn't mean he's lost authenticity, just means he likes different music to me.
The times I have seen him recently have been fun, loads of disco and 130 party stuff which isn't bad, the only reason you have to be annoyed is if you're expecting a dubstep set and don't get one, but he's said he won't be playing many of those anymore.

i wouldnt say i have a problem with his new musical venture, just like i didnt have a problem with his last musical venture into brostep.
BUT FUCK ME, THE GUY DONT HALF LIKE JUMPING ON THE NEW TREND IN MUSIC BANDWAGON
brostep was the next big commercial thing and he jumped on it, same with house music atm.
when next new thing comes around in 2 years time will skream still be on this house flex?
innovators like carl craig, mala, sven vath, ricardo villalobos, even richie hawtin to a certain extent theyve all carved out their own style but still evolved as musical artists.
they havent gone and jumped on another genre just because its the IN thing atm.
loefah has always stated he'd never make house music coz he'd feel just wrong, he'll happily play it in his sets but making it isnt any of his business.
skream shoulda took a page outta his book imo

Are you implying Skream isn't an innovator?
