Paired with the 10s sub they are spot on for mixing down any dance music. It's how well you know your monitors that count. Bare in mind there are Adam a7x's next to the VXT's on stands.

I personally rate vxt's highly above a lot of other monitors for dance music. Have a very round solid bottom end

I will try to remember to report back. I probably can't invest until I go back to teaching in the fall. But I did some digging around and I'm going to have to do a bit more research. It seems often you actually pay more for 500 series units than rack sized counter parts. On the other hand while I have a bit of rack space left, I'll probably fit more 500 series units into my studio then full sized gear.

Also I have to pay off my damn bill me later credit line with paypal, lol. Bastards sucked me in with 6 months no interest on purchases 99USD or more : )

Think I've seen the waterfall plot on them. Very good overall response, believe the only mentioned downfall was
the transient response. But yeah, there's not perfect loudspeaker.

Meant it's kind of odd they didn't make it to look distinctly different from the lower end models.

I think being more highly recognizable even to newbies has built up a lot of hype around KRK and specifically the Rokit line. Everyone else just makes black monitors that kinda look the same. But when you watch a studio video KRKs stand out immediately. Genius marketing/product design IMO.

I think it went the other direction. They made the Rokits look like the VXTs but then the Rokits just got super popular.

Oh sorry yes, they do look pretty much identical apart from the rounded edges. I get asked a lot why do you use rokits which I always reply I do I use VXT's a massive difference. Pretty much identical in looks

That's probably true, either way. I wonder how many marketing executives it takes to come up with the idea "hey, everyone else only makes all black monitors...lets use some yellow!"

They probably figured it worked so well for the NS10's. I woulda gone with green or something instead though. Maybe someday I'll start a monitor company...

For the price the Rokits are cool, not crazy detailed but then they are like £200. You can really go wrong with them as a starter monitor which is why they are so popular especially in dance music. A personal favorite budget monitor would be the Alesis M1 Active mk 2's

Start looking for 80's boombox lots on ebay. I'll try to round up some investors. I'm thinking fluorescent pink woofers and lime green cabinets. They'll be beautiful!

Id put those in my studio.

We gotta make the cabinets tetrahedrons and maybe put some faux fur on them for sound absorption.
