This is the first Boilerroom I've liked in a long, long time.

Cool stuff there wonga, Shapednoise/Violetshaped/Violet Poison is some heavy shit, particularly the remixes.
This one with headphones
Have had an intense week or so of this stuff;
Demdike Stare - Bit of a disappointment, was billed as an experimental night but turned out to be just be bland techno & house, except for 1 10ish minute drone piece that stood everyone still and rattled the room, bit of a cop out otherwise.
Pharmakon - Industrial exorcisms in a morgue, was bleak as shit;
Gnod set was relatively laid back, rolling dub basslines, but it was still industrial & noisey as shit.
Wolf Eyes did a relatively restrained set, pulsing techno rhythms, though they let go towards the end...
Container played a fairly accessible set of noisy, scrapey big room techno stuff, better than expected.
Blood Music weren't as good as I hoped, but it was very techno (for a band).
Cut Hands absolutely smashed it, way better than expected, went through so many different rhythms and genres essentially using the same sounds but it was still interesting, way better than on record.

Most of these are probably classed as just straight up techno but still sick.

A lot of Gnod's side label Tesla Tapes fits into here;
Theres less vocals on Trank Gun but it feels twice as urgent and kicks like a cast iron mule to your face .When he first sent these tracks to Gnod HQ , i thought i was listening to a long lost Regis Peel session that was just too fucking HARD to air. This is a real good showcase for what a Run Dust live show is like too, its thick with confrontation and daring you to get closer whilst grinding you down with what sounds like a hyperactive genius pushing his machines to the point of combustion.
