Author was one of my favorite duos when I was getting introduced to the scene.

Best of luck for his future endeavors.

Correct.
yeah man. no disrespect to the guy, this is definitely at least the 2nd or 3rd time he's 'quit'.

but we all go through shite, fair play to him, he's done some real good work.

this so much... i cannot help but to feel they're just begging for attention when they do this. like i'm 100 % sure he did that to wank over a few "oh god plz mr don't stop dubbsteps" comments. if you're going through a rough patch or wanna change something in your life, just do it. after that, look into if you wanna make music again. if somebody asks, then u can say you're not sure if you're gonna but these sort of announcements... a bit cringe TBH

what if he starts feeling like making music again in a short while? didn't get selected to the school or something. how is he gona explain that?

When you loose the love for making tunes, it becomes a chore like anything but other things in life can bring you to that point earlier than you might of expected.

Hey,

I have released since 2006 and contributed singles and 3 albums and helped build a community worldwide with Outlook festival and supported a lot of people.

Each producer is different and have different lives.. how you can you relate one life model to every producer?

If you had a job you gave everything to it and you didn't feel fulfilled ...you would change it right?

That is where i am at.

I'm not "gay" or want to "wank" over anything and i am an adult capable of making a educated decisions like leaving music to further my life in other areas and researching it first. I didn't rock up to facebook and make those choices in 5 minutes.

Please take the energy you put into that post and make a positive contribution to the music otherwise you are part of the problem by speculating.

If you have life worked out so well, why are you on here debating my life choices?

Big ups to everyone anyway, i have always posted on here no matter what the situation has been.

Thank you for the support over the years.

R

To be honest, when i wrote that response I did not expect the man himself to come over and reply to it... Yet i still stand by what I already stated, because I see no point in changing my opinion. I just always get that feeling when i read these "quitting music" announcements, can't help it.

That being said, I do in fact believe that this is not the case with you, as you explained. Fair enough. And I do know very well your contributions to the scene, I'm actually a fan of your music both solo work as well as in Author, and I know of Outlook etc, so no disrespect to you as a musician and a creative person, but quite contrary, I massively rate and appreciate your efforts, and I feel bad for the latest Author album release which the label fucked up. That must suck!

Just to be a wise-ass, I have to point out that I do put some energy into contributing to the scene myself, I produce and DJ several hours a day and have done so for the past 3 years or so. I'm not comparing, I just wanna say that so you guys don't think all I do is piss people off on the internet.

And, just to be clear, I do not debate your life choices, I see nothing wrong in pursuing something more "of substance" in life such as a career in, child psychology per say. I was just generally being a dick there. Now i feel bad, so I apologize you and everyone else I have offended with my nasty words. Now let's all be friends!
