didnt say ought about rules was just mentioning that a positive message goes a long way. also, some people will listen to whats said, isn't that what language is for? so roots manuva just made a load of cool sounds, or J5 just made vocal harmonies....

Yeah, he has a pretty good voice and tone
His lyrics are pretty laughable though. Chats a lot of nonsense on the mic
it is Crazy D and his constant 'Wha, wha, wha' shite I find really irritating
Just wish he'd shut up so I can enjoy the music
Sgt Pokes I like. He has some funny adlibs and is not so in love with his own voice that he won't let the music breathe

personally i think crazy d is a don, "whoa whoa whoa" not his most meaningful lyric but i like it.
one thing i think sets dubstep apart from other genres is the positive atmosphere, i havent seen a single fight at god knows how many raves in several different clubs. i think this comes partly from weed smoking, but also the lack of gunman lyrics/badman attitudes. dont want to get too deep with it, but when im raving i dont really want to hear lyrics about killing, violence, guns, knives etc, i only need to step out the door to see that.
however, back to topic, flowdan is still wicked, definitely my favourite transit van driver.

If it sounds good, it's good
And with FloDan, it certainly sounds good. Great MC, fucking love that 'Skeng' track.

agree with a lot of what seebs2000 said !
Theres no substance in his lyrics in skeng or jah war neven - sure there both great tracks but id much rarther be listening to - dancing to - spending my money on tracks with lyrics with a bit more to them than this :
"then, then, then, u dont wanna see me get evil, evil, evil, evil, evil, worse, worse, worse, shot in the face make u send for the nurse, nurse, nurse, doctor cant fix u send for the hurse, black, black, black, funeral every 1 in black, black, black, papa in a suit and moma in a throck"
i dont get this either ?

True Dat "
unwritten commandments ?? eh ??
id much rarther have skeng as an instrumental rarther than flowdan freestyleing gobshite over the top of these 2 tracks
is flowdan a proper gansta then ?
bet he stacks shelfes at morrisons lives with his mom n plays world of war craft all day.

Fair enough, he's might be chatting a bit of shite, and no doubt isn't a gangster, but his voice and presence on the tracks adds to them overall, IMO.
Just my opinion.

I think you'll find that particular lyric was actually from Goethe.

ps: what do all the nay sayers make of violent movies/video games?
not feeling violent content generally, or just when a big scary man is mcing over dubstep?

That would be slightly different would it not?
Violent content in games or cinema doesn't have the force of intent or singular voice as emceeing over a track does does it.

why? different mediums affect different people.. differently. don't they?
I've seen music, games and tv blamed for killings and the downfall of society, and in every case it's bollocks

Surely you don't think that direct intent of violence in a lyric is the same as violent content in a computer game or a film. Quite apart from the cultural cachet that emcees have as opposed to film or computer games the fact that it is first person delivery and supposedly based upon the reality of a life as lived makes it entirely different.
