You'll never know until you try brother. Experimentation is key, trust.

Im sorry but i just dont understand what i just listened...
I thought that you posted the intro/build up and the drop is where the clip ends...So to me the whole track sounds like some crazy intro/ build up...

But now when i did read this topic and listened it again couple of times, to me one of the problems i hear is that your build up/drop sounds flat.
So one thing i suggest is leave some space after the build up so ppl can actually notice when the drop hits.

dynamics are on a mad ting doe. add some white noise and a nasty car factory kick drum and you'll be big in the techno scene.

Hawbon wrote:Thanks guys, for the most part you've all been positive, I still don't really know what I'm doing, its all a big mess right now, I have a couple more sounds on my profile that are in my opinion a little more put together, I'm going to keep working on it and post the end result. I still cant tell if the positiveness on this was serious but it brightened my day nonetheless because I cant tell if its sarcasm or not

aint my thing but if u worked on the tune from 26 seconds onwards some mroe, i think it would go down really well with some people, legit
like jose (or someone) said, it sounds like some weir daphex twin style ting

like if u stuck a break in at 53 seconds, worked on ur build ups n shit, worked on ur drums, and if actaully put some bass in there (u need some fat subbass in there tbh man my ears are disappointed by the lack of low end- remember to make it mono cos i been hearin lots of people with ridiculously wide subbass on here sometimes) it would be fairly interesting. youve got a couple of really ace sounds. you could try resampling from the tune to make them into more appropriate 8/16 bar loops n what have u. read up on basic dubstep song structure and stuff if u havent done that already, listen to some songs by decent producers and see how they do build ups and transiutions and stuff (avoid brostep, listen to people who can actually compose decent music, like aphex twin- sry to state the obv suggestion haha)

but honestly tho scrap the first 26 seconmds man that bit is extremely wack and doesnt fit the second half of the song at all

^ hope that was useful

Im not even kidding either. If you added more stereo movement and weird fx, that would be like a mint soundscapey alien space noises thing.

@hawbon

it's pretty cool as it is tbh. I like how it isn't static and how all of the parts seem to flow. keep it up. maybe throw in a couple of voice samples or a cut up accapella or something though?
