Scrooge was a fassy, got shook by apparitions. If it was me I would've lenged Tiny Tim out of his crippled misery.

Do you do that every friday or just NYE. seems like a bizarre way of thinking.

I'm all for having a good night when I feel like it, not because I'm supposed to. It's not a useful way of thinking, granted.

Aha. You've posted a picture of that thing that people keep saying. Cunning.

The only problem I have with Christmas is the glorification of consumerism throughout the entire month of December.

who cares. if people want to buy each other presents let them. if you don't weave your loved ones a hemp jumper or something

If you want to fine, but being pressurised into it by a perceived societal standard perpetuated by the capitalist machine is a bit shit, imo.

Xmas is only a consumer thing if youre weak and you let it become that. Xmas is more about time off/partying/playing videogames etc than just presents

Thats bollocks man obviously capitalism an everything is a bit evil but if you dont want to be pressured into just don't do it. Loads of ppl don't bother with expensive presents and stuff. plenty of people I know just buy small stuff for their family because its nice. All the secret santa stuff is a bit too much for me so i dont do it. but ill buy my mum some earings or something because its a nice thing to do.

Most people aren't that strong. I admire your optimism if you think they are.

What I done this year in the end was wait for xmas eve when the crackers and gift boxes went on sale dirt cheap in M&S, then took out the gift from the crackers and put them in the gift boxes. Looked like I made an effort and spent loads, spent £6, my sister was well chuffed her nail-file and nail clippers, don't know who got the mini chrome yoyo though.
