I hear about Zimmer ripping people off a lot, but what has he actually ripped off? I'm not disputing it I just haven't heard it, there's at least some irony in people mindlessly repeating others' opinions on plagiarism.
He's got some good ideas but he just rinses them to death. Will add some actual movie scores later.

Kubrick had a good ear for music imo.
Though his scores are pretty much interchangable (ala Hans "d minor" Zimmer), Thomas Newman has some goodies under his belt too.
