^Way more RAM than you need unless you working with huge audio files. Bet you can build something similar for less money :) That would be a sweet machine for music though.

I knew/know virtually nothing about computer components and built my own dekstop. You just have to make sure the componants (mostly RAM and CPU) are compaitable with the motherboard. I was able to easily google this info. My self built PC is the most stable one I have ever owned.

Future proof specs more than anything. Yeah I know about all the components/parts etc I think the one thing that puts me off is stress testing everything and making sure everything is compatible with the mother board.
