Thanks guys for the tips! Actually someone gave me a tip of compressing the master so it doesn't but don't over compress it. Then have everything other instrument at a desired DB level, I have been getting solid mixes and masters out of it. Here are some tracks I just came out with, the WIP is a quick master not fully done.

I don't really know who's so 'on one' about NEVER touching the master fader...this is not completely true. Just keep in mind WHY you did it, and to compensate in the mixdown stage. Turning the master fader down, in my experience, has always provided me with a very flexible safety net. I find that I go between my 'master' and 'mixdown' versions of project files much less when making adjustments to the finished product.

You can always turn your monitors up. Mixdown your tracks as low as possible. Mastering is where you push hard. In my sound design experience, having that safety net is nice, especially for newbies. A true representation of an audible element in your music is subjective to the creator. If I move a track to mastering, sometimes I get a result that I wasn't intending on and generally have more success with this 'safety net' I'm talking about.

I've been up, down, left, and right about this particular issue. At the end of the day, it's your personal responsibility to appropriately apply gain staging to your productions in a way you'd like them to be in the final product.

This is my most recent track and I would like a little feedback, did I mix and master it well? I didnt put the master fader down one bit but compressed and pushed everything to the appropiate Db level, no clipping.

dope as fuck man..

i do know that basically giving everything its own place to sit properly without disturbance is a very huge thing for a good mix, you can achieve this by equing out certain frequencies from other elements such as the basses low end, just enough for your kick and snare to come through, then sidechain compression would help to duck the rest out just ever so slightly so they will have breathing room. another thing, dont over complicate a track, your basically just digging yourself a whole for the mixing process, keep organized and keep track of what you are doing.
