How is this an overblown response? This is the third black person to die (that the masses know of) by the hand of the police in less than a month. The city already has a detailed history of distrust with their police department too.
You dickhead I was talking about the rozzers
Imo law enforcement needs to be representative of the people they serve...

To be honest though as soon as the white majority disappears I hope this shit stops, if not sooner. It's the only way I can see it happening, it doesn't seem that a lot of white people are trying to correct society so everyone's on an equal footing. They probably see as it as lowering their status rather than raising others'

I'm living as a minority so I think I'm starting to understand the way power imbalances play out. I don't think I can ever fully comprehend what it's like for say a black American but I do think it's therefore prudent to ask for their opinion... most of the world isn't white but aren't represented, it's fucking appalling and I think decisions should be made with respect to personal representation rather than economic leverage, which disproportionately favours white people even if indirectly...

That isn't police in riot gear, those are soldiers.
America's brilliantly fucked up.

Not sure how long it'll be before the police is just dissolved altogether and they have permanent national guard patrols.

Autopsy Shows Michael Brown Was Struck at Least 6 Times
Michael Brown, the unarmed black teenager who was killed by a police officer, sparking protests around the nation, was shot at least six times, including twice in the head, a preliminary private autopsy performed on Sunday found.
One of the bullets entered the top of Mr. Brown’s skull, suggesting his head was bent forward when it struck him and caused a fatal injury, according to Dr. Michael M. Baden, the former chief medical examiner for the City of New York, who flew to Missouri on Sunday at the family’s request to conduct the separate autopsy. It was likely the last of bullets to hit him, he said.
Mr. Brown, 18, was also shot four times in the right arm, he said, adding that all the bullets were fired into his front.
The bullets did not appear to have been shot from very close range because no gunpowder was present on his body. However, that determination could change if it turns out that there is gunshot residue on Mr. Brown’s clothing, to which Dr. Baden did not have access.
Because six times at point blank range would just be excessive
