This is shit but not as bad as lots of skrillex is. Just boring jump up

I tend to find bait jump up dnb far more acceptable than the dubstep equivalent. This is still pretty rubbish but much better than his attempts at dubstep.

I'd find it equally annoying if I was really into dnb and everytime somebody asked me what music I listen to they'd want to talk about DJ Fresh and Pendulum.

Do Nero still make music? Those guys died. Thought they'd have had #1s by now.

don't really get the hype around bad company. i mean, sure it was the kinda stuff i listened to when i got into dnb like 10 years ago but idk there's way better techstep out there.
not to mention that digital nation side project when they went all dnb rock which was god awful

of course
but it's the memories from back when you were young and lost your shit to four rewinds of The Nine (or Warhead or whatever else was big to us) because you didn't know any better.
and tbh it still sounds better than 90% of all dnb released between 1998 and today.

You must have barely scratched the surface. Tracks like jelly fish, blind or colonies are super dope. I don't even really like the nine.
I know dBridge had a lot of input on the bits that i like the most and a track like true romance was made during that time, but didn't sit with the other guys .. but that sort of dark tech combined with melodic elements (in soul scales which is key to the sound) is very rare and some of the best music ever made imo. dBridge had a weird foray into neosoul for a bit and have a strong black influence in his music - which was unique to techstep - but that combination was so important in all of drum and bass. I would go as far as saying kemal and rob date/konflict is a straight up continuation of bcuks sound.

I used to buy pretty much everything hospital released back when i was about 17, not sure if that counts as embarrassing?

It's difficult to combine in a historical sence, american elements like rap or soul with dnb and it's rarely done right and most of the time sort of camp.
Like why isn't or wasn't there more stuff like this.

i don't like any of those tunes tbh. and i only like dbridge's stuff starting with the whole autonomic thing
i'm guessing the neosoul thing comes from his brother

Yeah, ages 14 to 17, that was definitely the move for me too lol. I still quite like the stuff I liked then tbf, just hated everything that came out since Danny Byrd's second, that being said I got pretty sick of dnb in general around then and only opened to it again recently. Even then though, I really just listen to Alix Perez' old shit these days.
