might be a precursor of future pop music imo
Literally would be in the top 5 worst pieces of music I've heard this year. Sounds like someone trying to make electroswing and trap crossover
Definitely, I thought it was awful.

Anybody know if Boomkat send Monday releases out early? I'm sure I've got quite a few Monday releases on Friday/Saturday from Redeye before.

"I think the worst thing is that there are so many people doing the same shit. It seems like there's no way around a certain sound. The sound is defined by the time because everyone is going for the same thing. Everyone wants the same kind of beat, or wants it to hit the same way in the club. It's weird for producers right now. Everyone seems to be second guessing themselves, like, "Oh, I'm a trap producer now... I'm a pop producer now..." It's kind of annoying to watch people scrambling. The whole industry is scrambling."

Interesting but overly pretentious.

Tbh his stuff is just beats. It's not jazz or idm albums and imo he is still stuck inside one corner of madlibs output.

To his credit Flylo tried different approaches and tried to get out of that comer. But I can't say why really but I find his albums really flat compared to the rest of his stuff.

The best example I can think of is there's a track that Flylo did on some podcast(The tracks called Sasha Grey) and he made the track within a hour I think and it has more energy and vibe than anything on 'Until the quiet comes'(and from the clips I heard on Your Dead it's the same situation).

Oh for sure I like the guy, I just hate the way he is talked about. Like mentiong him in the same breath as jazz musicians or Hendrix is so far fetched it shows a lack of understanding of how much effort jazz and Hendrix' stuff took. He is making some good beats and has begun rapping decently, which is cool but that's it.

The most profound info they got out of him in that interview was the bits about xanax being that bad imo.

Might be from the champs podcast btw

First 12" done. Cohesive, I'll give him that.. and I really like that in an album. I hate when people release a random bunch of tunes and call it an album, hes clearly taken a lot of time to get the TL right and so far its flowing very nicely.
thatjsound wrote:It's okay as an album to me, but there aren't many standalone tracks.
So far this comment is spot on and for me its in no way a negative point. I hate buying albums because its an average LP with a couple standout tunes.. theres so many albums I'd buy purely to own 2/3 songs and really couldn't care about the rest, this album is not like that. Its definitely something to stick on at the start and listen to in its entirety.

I love that it's an actual album like sit down and listen all the way through also the quality of the collectors boxset is insane

The artwork too, its an all round brilliant piece of work. Even the day of dead on boiler room was a nice touch I thought.

You are not already arguing the quality of the box it comes in are you?

He could release it on a usb stick inside Sascha Gray or whatever and the record would still have to be working on its own..

It does work on its own, these are side comments.. added bonuses on top of a great album.
