also another thing why can't people ever just leave dsf why do they have to tweet/make a post about leaving and have a go at the forum
It was along the lines of the night basically being populated with "internet" dwellers. Just no need for it when everybody seemed to enjoy it, and it seemed he was taking an interest in booking him/similar artists.
People go on twitter because it's full of dick riders and they know they're very unlikely to have anybody challenge them on anything.
There's just no need to slag a whole group of ardent supporters of 130 all because jurkhands wasn't particularly feeling one soundman chronicles release (he said he'd bought the rest of them as well ). It's just straight fucking childish, especially to react the way he did when people say "wait a minute, that's not ok". Who wants producers like that in the thread anyway? Blackdown is a pretty level headed guy who, most of the time, adds something to the discussion. If he didn't wanna do that anymore, that'd be a loss. Having someone flip their lid because somebody wasn't gonna buy a record isn't something I'd miss.

Yeah exactly blackdown, parris and facta always seem down to earth and actually contribute. Whereas etch just acts like the big child that he probably is, i understand this may seem hypocritical lol.

haha i don't think anyone has complained about the mod team have they? Although saying that i think tbh if i had said to etch that i want to stab him i would probably have been banned would i not?

I feel like we're all being a bit too heavy about this. I really don't see the crisis.

Exactly and on facebook and they expect the same thing here and voila - that misunderstanding get's treated - like it should be.
I think it's weird because there's actually been a nice jovial tone in snh for a minute..

There always seems to be some sort of issue in and with 130, pretty off putting imo

Honestly, it's usually because a producer, who will claim to be entirely above even acknowledging the internet, has taken umbrage with a name of a thread which works perfectly well for everybody posting in it.
Either that, or they can't handle somebody that somebody who owns 4 of 5 releases on their label doesn't really like the 5th.
Defo is off-putting.

This was the original reply from Etch:
dunno how anyone can hate on the new Rabit
and Soundman Chronicles never has and never will be a -130 label-
Now, perhaps it's not worded the best, but whatever, nothing particularly inflammatory. Jrkhands responds in a civil manner addressing that he isn't hating.
Then xtcwhoever and mason start laying in. The usual snide comments. And Etch gets wound up to the point of posting some dumb shit.
Sure Etch could have handled the whole thing better, but I could hardly hold him to blame.
ultraspatial wrote:in this particular case it wasn't that bad and if it were just random guys who go on here arguing noone would have cared
Wrong.
so one should only post if they have something nice to say?
At no point have I ever said or implied that. If you GENUINELY can't figure out the difference between saying you don't like something and shitting on someone or being snide, then this is not really something I can help you with.
garethom wrote:As you know, I don't come here that often anymore, primarily for some of the reasons you listed above, but the way he acted was pretty dumb. ...
... no producer on here can take one person's opinion as what it is without cussing out everyone.
I agree wholeheartedly, but as above (and this applies to more than just Etch's situation) the difference between being civil and discussing opinions and being abusive, rude and offensive is lost on a few.
As for the 'protecting artists' thing that Ultraspacial is going on about, we have never and will never give more leeway to an artist being abusive to the members on here. HENCE ETCH'S POSTS GOT REMOVED (a fact people seem to be ignoring). However, having the artists we all follow and listen to post on this forum is a big bonus that all of us users could get a lot out of. I remember DSF being the primary place for people like Skream, Benga, Remadanman and alike to post free tunes up. this doesn't happen anymore, because of users being pricks basically. And I agree, I always argue that a few members does not make up the community, but when those members (and the dickheads are always the loudest) are constantly harassing them and swamping threads and posts they make with abuse, then how else are they supposed to see the forum?

so pete got angry cause guys didn't agree with his ways, threatens to permaban anyone "talking shit" and dumps the discussion that was relevant to that thread in the snh?

did we read the same posts?
etch got called on and threw a hissy fit (like visionist, quest and others did)
and plenty of other dumb arguments on here didn't end up in permaban threats

I don't think ultra is arguing that you mods wouldn't care... like in general terms he is sort of right isn't he?

They don't do it because they don't even slightly need this place anymore. Their reach is far bigger than this forum, which no longer represents even a tiny slice of what dubstep has become (and no longer did even before I joined).

I think shit started to go south when Etch promoted the idea that "130" merely is a BPM - which is basically the opposite of what Blackdown has been promoting for the past two years. Of course people will be taking the piss out of you after such a statement. In my oppinion, if you can't take a bit of rough love, just stop the argument in its tracks instead of making an utter fool out of yourself, insulting your punters in the process... I think Parris gave a well articulated and clean response. Some people should've taken notes.
Fun fact: just got the club manager's signature today, will be starting a new series of nights in 2015, once every three months. dubstep / grime / "130". so stoked.

Yeah, now I'm not sure if there's some language barrier here. But my stance is to not have 4 pages of people sniping at each other on the front page of this forum. Big (ish) names or not. If that is what he's saying then more power to him.

Skream still posts here about (or at least has this year i think) about his radio show and that. Though you're right, they don't post the free stuff now, I'm not convinced it's 100% because they don't 'need' us. And if you just swap out those names for Compa, Gantz, Thelem or whoever is plat du jour, I think the point still stands?

100%
And congrats on the night, who you thinking of booking?
EDIT: Just seen ultraspatials post in the 130 thread. no need to send indirects like a sideman, I'm right here, happy to discuss any decisions made. UI didn;t delete anything in case anyone made a good enough arguement to have it restored. Just try and keep things civil, which I don't think is too much to ask? If it is, though, feel free to go IN at me in this thread.
