I found sine waves tuned a fifth apart, with the top one a little flat, sounds pretty heavy.
Power chord :5: Add another an octave above too, all made of saw waves... so that's root, 5th, octave on three different oscillators. You could make it even more ridiculous by layering two identical sets together and detuning them like double tracked guitars urrrrgghhhh

But then that's not a sub is it. That's just silly. I'd keel my root note separate IMO

Well, it'd be a sound that contains a sub. Sub doesn't have to be yellow.

You could low pass it for the sub AND high pass it for the 'air' with parallel filters. That's generally how I make my basses, don't see the point of separating them out if its not necessary

I think ur better off keeping it separate because its easier to add fx and stuff the the none sub portion.

I like gradual applications of FX across the freq range though so I split it in to bands

tbh sometimes i just distort my sub then filter it again so im not sure what my orignal point was
