until the opportunity arises to get some space, learn to do as much as you can on decent headphones..obviously synth programming and mixing is best left to monitors, but arranging, audio preparation etc, can be done on cans..

no worries, I live in a top floor flat with bare wooden floors - the bass from my speakers goes straight down into my neighbour's bedroom, even at incredibly low volumes.

He has all my phone numbers though, and is welcome to call me whenever I'm keeping him awake. Via this method of open dialogue, I can crank it to mega-loud most of the time without any worry of getting a complaint.
