You've heard it boomnoise? If so have you heard his Thom Yorke one? But his musical integrity seems pretty solid, if he can get away with sampling michael jackson, and seemingly christina aguilera i don't think that is at stake.
Damn it's late too

haven't heard the thom yorke one. but the bug played his when he came into our show a few weeks ago. and that was bloody impressive.
all i'm saying is that when you know the sample source it's a little less magical. i mean even the slightly less obscure sample sources on previous burial tracks are properly detached, severed from their original context through the vocal science, the art of the cut up, todd edwards style. and this is what makes the new burial album so great. it has a clearer voice than 'burial' but it's still a faceless voice. one which you can project things onto. with remixing a high profile band, you already have all the context in place. the canvas isn't blank.
for me the jamie woon track worked better because of the vocal track being a traditional folk song, one which many vocalists have covered over the years.
then again, all this said. if i didn't know who bloc party were, or indeed that it is a remix of a band, then my comments might not apply.

Is burial remixing harrowdown hill as well as the bug then? Cos i wasn't too keen on the bug's version, as much as i love most of what i know of his stuff. And yeah the whole album is brilliant, very minimal and simple but the beats are so warm, and the vocals are amazing, as per usual with thom.
Wonder if he goes to any of the raves in oxford (if there are any) cos he seems to be a fan of dubstep

based on the boomkat preview it actually might be better than a lot of the album tunes, seriously, like the guy above me said
