Yeah those aren't exactly his best/easiest to get into

I like this one a lot. It's still largely really fucking weird though. Like the first track tricks you into thinking it's gonna be pretty normal but then it just immediately moves into the weirdest most horrible sounding production straight after. I like it for that though. It's got the most bizarre atmosphere and sound to it. Proper outsider music vibe. In fact as I've listened to him more I've come to find even his bad albums interesting. Almost in a "Jandek of black metal" way

^idk, that just sounds poor to me, worst drum micing i've heard in a long time haha, no kick all cymbals. Bun the system tho, its edgy and different and artistic decisions were made so its good hm?

I dunno I think it's more that he's just some odd dude in rural Tasmania making "what the hell am I actually listening to" style black metal on account of that being what he's like as a person rather than consciously being edgy.
That's pretty listenable compared to him at his weirdest. I mean his stuff gets pretty bafflingly odd

so you'd admit that a lot of the music's appeal is in its aesthetic?

not saying it's a bad thing

just because the music relies on aesthetics doesn't mean you can't like the music itself tho

there's a lot of black metal that's genuinely good. the aesthetics just make it a bit easier to get into imo

Weird coincidence that I was just talking about Bolt Thrower to my brother about half an hour ago.

Are you really him? Or watching me? How is this happening?
