already mentioned, but since zep is on the topic here, it´s the room. usually very large and with one mic. one damn good tube mic.

Yeah, a big 47 warmed up for an hour...and hit hard. But having Bohman playing does it all. It's like shooting a photo of a supermodel with a disposable.

For unknown pleasures before it i heard he also had stephen morris record on the roof, a toilet sink was used as percussion and he also only allowed him to record one drum at a time.

Must have been a fucking pain to work with, but listen to the drums on that album...

we´ve actually recorded a lot of drums outside. nice dry sound. lot´s of control.
