Had a conversation about the last album with a teacher at uni the other day about the hype around Burial and the fact that he's anonymous, he basicaly slated him

At the end of the day though, it's amazing, unique and heartfelt music, regardless of hype. I get a bit sick of straight wobble sometimes, been waiting on this for months and it hasn't disapointed.

Ghost Hardware it sounds even better on this album, maybe cos its surrounded by some other genial productions, its weird but its what i felt.
yeah i really felt that too..fits so nicely. been listening to it on repeat for a while now..some absolutely outstanding tunes on there..really warm and textured, feeling the vocals A LOT. pure LUSH.

On first impressions it's all about Etched Headplate. Though i am loving Archangel more everytime i hear it.That vocal is haunting.
I feel this album will be a grower which i won't fully appreciate untill i listen to it at three a.m on my drive home from work. Hopefully on a rainy, cold and foggy night.

haven't received my copy yet, but have listened to clips on amazon, sotu, and bleep etc. honestly i'm digging it even more than the first album. i always wondered how burial would top that but "untrue" does it, and the direction he's gone in makes so much sense.
in interviews he always mention how aggro and unsexy underground club music had become, so it only makes sense that he's injected a bit of that sexiness and rhythm back into the mix. "unite" was just the first taste of that (simple 2step rhythms and vocals).
burial is in a league of his own, above and beyond "dubstep-as-usual." frankly the genre seems to have become a bit formulaic, predictable, and vapid but burial continues to push the envelope. no other artist in this genre makes me stop and actually *listen* like burial. no other artist's music resonates as much, or hits that nerve like burial. haven't really felt that since hearing goldie's "timeless" for the first time over 10 years ago. much respect to burial for that.

Feral Witchchild
Archangel
Endorphin
Etched Headplate
Homeless
Dogshelter
Archeron
Shell of Light
Stairwell
UK
In McDonalds
Near Dark
Afterglow
Sinkheart
Speed Ball2
Cold Planet
Stay
Cold Planet
is so deep
There are some tracks that Kode9 played in the album preview, all we can do for now is pray for the time... but at least two of them are in the pipeline for the next year.
Untrue and Raver wasn't there and both are definitely absolutely percy.
Watch out for "Stairwell"/"Feral Witchchild" on Hyperdub in February 2008.

Ha, imagine Cold Planet b/w Gaslight. Burial lost dubs 12"
Thing is i reckon burial would like the idea of lost classics, him being such an admirer of El-B and all.
Although cold planet does sound like it could be from a high tech, ultra darkside album, doesn't sound like untrue, maybe it's his first experimentation in that direction?
Have you noticed that there is one sound used in either gaslight or rain on the first album preview, the jamie woon remix and somewhere in this preview too, can't really describe it, but i hope people know what i mean. Wonder why it keeps being used?
