How is that even possible?

And it's not really true that records well out in a week, but a quick look at any record shop will show you that runs of 1500 (if that number is accurate) certainly don't go that fast. DMZ007 has been around for 7 weeks or something and is still in stock at loads of places.

In my opinion, all thats needed are either more copies being pressed, or reissue more releases. It's not as if people won't buy them, just not everyone has a chance so releasing it a few times means people who miss it first time have a second or third chance.

No. But I'd have to say that the pressing quality for these promos was fairly well done.

More releases is good for the scene. DJs around the world can get a set toghether and spread the vibe. The dubplates are still many months ahead of releases.

I just bought the 2 Digital Mystikz on Souljazz - @ £3.99 that's money well spent :-)

when ur thinking of investing £800 into putting ur tune out its understandable to kinda wanna wait a while to try ensure you arent jus stocking racks in rec shops ,there is some demand growing for your tune and youll sell a run of 500...

really?

funny how that dosent happen in grime......where pees barely struggle to sell 500 let alone 1500-2000......

talkin bout units.............i wonder how much units of "request line" got sold...............

there are a lot more Grime labels and DJ's, more room to spread the wealth for them so far... give us time :D

In terms of 12" vinyl, dubstep is outselling grime quite easily nowadays.

sounds like good news to me ..
as long as the quality keeps flowing

personally i haven't bought so much vinyl in years
the amount of 12"'s available feels very much like springtime ..

so maybe i eat a little less ....
the bass makes up for ir though

Grime doesn't get pressed so much because people download rather than buy.

Soul Jazz DMZs were pre's. I'm waiting for full release.

DMZs do 1500-2000 minimum. There have been some represses. I would imagine there's a working capital issue -- do you press a new tune and build your rep or re-press an old one. Esp when profits on selling 2000 vinyl records is miniscule.

Bleep releases are the last release because it kills vinyl sales and the cash generated is fairly minor.
