best way to mix dubstep:
- loads of beer inna chillsafe
- your lass is out fer the evening
- "insert name here" just dropped off a sweet sack of Blueberry
- some lads just hooked you up with the new tearouts, and the neighbors aren't home and/or we have enough suds inna belly to not care
...and the BESTESTEST way is:
- this is your 18, 326th session so get fuckin bagged, start beatmatching Lionel Ritchie with Wobble that Gut, and for the love of Christ I don't give a fuck how old you are doing it

I've been DJing DnB for around 2 years now and its only the last 2/3 months or so I've been DJing Dubstep. Obviously Im going to be (slightly) biased with my opinion due to the length of time I've been playing with each genre but I do find you can be alot more creative with your mixing whilst playing DnB.
With Dubstep I find that you really have to know your songs and know which ones work together. Sometimes even when your two records are beatmatched correctly they can sound wrong (and I don't just mean Key Clashing), as if the beats are fighting against each other or pulling in opposite directions or something.
Because the majority of DnB has (very!

) similar beat structures I don't feel I have as many restrictions to the style of mix I can perform. However because of this you don't get as much of the pace change like you do with Dubstep (i.e. Going from half-time to the 4 on the floor stuff to the steppa stuff).
But like everyone else is saying, its completely down to you how you mix\eq. If you spend all your time listening to everyone else's tips you may have amazing technical skills by the end of it but you'll sound just like everyone else!
Peace

yeah, definitely switch up ur style from mix to mix- u dont want the crowd guessin ur next move. i like fairly long mixes compared to a lot of dubstep heads, but u gotta think bout what ur doin if u mix beyond the intro. bassline switches r real important with dubstep. it's generally not too bright having 2 tunes in full swing without cutting out one of the basslines. how much u cut between the tunes should always depend upon the tunes tho. whatever sounds right. u just gotta practice and develop ur own style
