at secondary stage it is technically free but there are a lot of hidden costs (travel being one of them), university (basically the same stage as US colleges...i think) you have to pay a load, and then your rent, food...and of course henious amounts of beer

well imagine having all those costs PLUS crazy tuition

i tell you something now.. they don't care...

i remember reading my university newspaper once... and one of the articles that caught my eye, was about how people where bunking from, waterloo to norbiton station.. without paying a fare...

i actually went to the person who wrote the article, i asked him what on earth gave him the idea to expose a crucial life line in which many people who got no money manage to get to uni. people in london are funni. I blame all the tea they drink.

I seen bare articles about people ghost riding on the backs of trains by standing on those black circles and holding onto the window wiper...might have to try it some time

think you took the right course of action there bruv, some people just have no choice in the matter, like a lot of people from my college now go to a station much further away from the college then walk for a long time to avoid the ticket barriers (i ain't gonna mention college or station names for obvious reasons)

i swear back in the day it was 40p a child single/ 60p in zone 1 and 70p for adult...
