I find it's important to get the sober start to the idea, and then when you're well into a tune smoke a LITTLE bit of weed just to get into the lifted headspace and listen again, then tweak, then listen again sober afterwards to make sure you didn't draw a handlebar moustache on your tune.

what i usually do is, smoke to START the idea, and mess about lay down some tracks
then go back sober and add and mix
then smoke again towards the end to hear what else needs to be added (high flava' haha)

i agree with what your saying about the quality of green these days
having blazed for about 8 years now u get to know contacts in your area and network with others, im lucky to be in touch with a few private growers who know their sh*t, so moretime i just buy a big bit from these guys at the start of the month then make it last..
it works out so much better than runni the hassle of gettin a henry twice a week, gambling with the condition and weight of what your gonna be picking up, and hunting for someone thats actually got bits to even sell...
dubstep and weed= spot on
ive always blazed when ive done music, it makes me more creative... 99% of club or radio sets i do are bunned up, and if anything im more motivated when i blaze
due to a busy lifestyle, sometimes being lean is the only chance u get to relax whilst doing other things.. ie blaze a zoot then go food shopping.. seems to work fine with me... mind u with green its horses for courses, everyones affected different by it...

soon i hope the world will again lean towards the helping properties and uses of marijuana/hemp as it has been looked upon since the recorded history of man (and before)

haha tell me about it, i also buy expensive glasswear (bongs mostly) from the net when im real high because i just LOVE the first rip on a brand new glass peice

When mixing, I'm always better stoned than not stoned, cos I feel the music more and get far far more into it...not the same with Alcohol or other drugs. Though I'm never sure if it sounds better as I am too busy concentrating on the music. Also driving. I drive stoned constantly, and can do it just as well as if I wasn't stoned. Smoking makes you a little paranoid when driving, which in turn makes you more aware of your surroundings so you're not as stupid or as lazy on the road. Alcohol..different story.
I see what you're saying bout draws as well. Ain't been smoking as long as you sir as I'm quite young, but its always a bit nostalgic when we get a bit of bud that tastes like 2005 draw back when we were hanging round street corners of s norwood, just blazing. I don't really have one shotter anymroe cos reliability is so changeable, but one of my mates gets a lot of stuff from Amsterdam so got a fairly good supply of Chocolat and White Rhino coming in

haha yeah u know that, rarely when u pick up a draw and u get it, its "old skool green, like we used to get back in the day" like 5 years ago
when stuff was dry, cleaner, and an eighth was 3.5 grams...

I find blazing skunk days on end does affect me negativley sometimes i.e more lazy n less motivation but its all in your head. As long as you actually get up and do things still instead of monging around on the couch bunnin zoot after zoot you'll be fine.
When I'm mixin on the other hand I love to get the decks spinning sober then after a couple of mixes draw for the zoot. Nothing like bunnin a zoot listenin to tunes, vibes just multiply.

usually when im feeling un motivated i will smoke some and it gets me wanting to do something
