I've listened to this album constantly for the past few months, never once did I think they were "white boys making black music". I just thought it was a good album. Maybe that's just me though.

Indeed. Was skeptical about this band from the off due to the sheer amount of hype that preceded them but they really are very good. Probably one of the best debut albums of the past 5 years.
