The first thing I will say is: Both tracks are audibly very D+B influenced, which isn't neccessarily a bad thing in itself, however, the sounds you're using ARE very typically D+B, Reese b line, distorted kicks etc, it's hard not to picture a D+B track in your head when hearing those sounds. Good arrangement though, but the overall 'sound' of both tracks is quite Middy/ D+b style. Not dissing mate, they both got potential, I think you need to 'let go' of the D+B in your head when approaching a Dubstep track and embrace some sub bass and space mate, keep cracking on with the tunes tho, don't let a bit of constructive criticism stop ya. big up.

oh and there are subs, but maybe it's the mp3 compression that makes it a bit difficult to hear?
as for vibes, well i'm all out of those
i feel what you are all saying about minimalism...and i like minimalism, but i guess these tunes are my response to that. trying to add a bit of a militant vibe to a form of music that i think can get too minimal at times...when i made these tunes, i didn't go into them thinking "this is how you make dubstep...and so this is how i'm going to make a dubstep track." i wanted to make tunes that sounded like what i had in my head and stood out...but i understand your points completely.

My main criticism would be that they sound too polished to mine ears, the rawness is lost. Keep going though.

Nobody can really even give you a definition of what we mean by space... it actually is a physical thing; the space that dubstep takes up... there are millions of different possible ways to approach the same result, which is to achieve that space, and still have some sort of hook(which is usually an amazing bassline!!!)
