ive tried windows movie maker, but for some reason it keeps exporting without any sound. proper pissing me off!!!!!

Not sure what DAW you use, but i'm sure Cubase allows you to import video and audio, then just set your left and right markers to "cut" and then export? You could automate the volume to attenuate the louder parts of the mix? Though i might be far from the mark with this......

would do this but for some reason cubase doesnt recognise my sound card and wont play any audio, although im sure this is a completely unrelated matter to the silent movie maker exportings. maybe its time to get a mac i think!!!!
