perhaps the guy was a) excited about talking to carl craig and b) excited about dubstep, and the two happened to converge. it's easy to seem a bit overzealous sometimes when you get excited about music. i know the feeling personally, and to some it comes off as something more insidious than it actually is.

i've met a few people who get all bent out of shape when dealing with some excited newly converted dubstep lovers, and they usually come off as rather jaded and exhausted with the constant super genrefication and NEW NEW NEW but it's really SAME SAME SAMEness of music. i don't really blame anyone for it either. people get a bit skeptical after all the claims of revolutionary new music that ends up being rehashed and regurgitated versions of something else, and when confronted with genuine excitement, sometimes they just mistake it for dubstep proselytizing instead of the dorky music nerd joy it usually is.

def not mad at carl craig! he's done so many incredible things he can listen to wtf he wants.

btw, i play carl craig with dubstep sometimes...psyche-from beyond is a big tune!

nah thats not true. they played that tune for the interview but it wasn't the tune played to him at the Rush Hour shop.

I do agree with this in part especially where derrick may is concerned, great dj, great producer but does enjoy a good rant about how they are the originators and so every other producer (especially in techno) falls under them.
