so a dubplate is so i can have a pressing of my stuff

what about if i want to make vynl's for sale? how much do they go for?

how many should i make, and how much should i sell them for?

i was gonna promote them on my myspace and sell them myself (ship them and stuff) to whoever wants to buy one

is this worth it? or just stick to digital

i know u can get like 500 12s pressed for around £500 in the UK, with printed labels. but i'm not sure if it IS worth it 2b honest. plenty serious labels dont even bother w vinyl anmore cos the financial risk is so high. even 500 could b pretty tricky to shift off of myspace, and most places wont press less than that. but then again...plenty ppl like vinyl, especially in dubstep, and yr 12 might b shit hot...so...

I'd really ask around if you want to do a run. A lot of places in the states have crazy compliances from the RIAA and anti-piracy organizations. I've heard of places just straight up taking your money and record labels going under due to dropping the dime on uncleared samples. A lot of places require proper licensing for replication.

if you want dubplates, turnstyle is ace, inexpensive, and quick turnaround.

unless you've got distro i wouldn't reccomend printing up 500 plates and selling them over the internet. 80% of your customers will be in the UK and europe and shipping is outrageous these days.

all depends on how much you want to hustle. no reason you can't do it solo-- it's just a ton of work.
