You could look at it that way. But as a true foody i see it as an oppurtunity to experience genius on a plate. People don't mind spending a one'r on a night out drinking or a few hundred on a weekend break.
I wouldn't eat at that sort of place regularly but as an one off experience it ain't that much money.

Lo Spicchio d'Aglio should be your friend for all pasta and other Italian recipes. Now that there is G**gle Translate, there is really no excuse any more for weak acculturated versions of Italian cooking. Sod off, Jamie :D
