soo true. only the other day some bloke came over to me mid mix chattin bout how he was some music agent (sunglasses in the club blatant prick) waving his hands literally an inch away from the needle. when i told him i'd chat to him when i was done, he asked me if i could play any dj shadow, i explained i was playin a dubstep/2step set, his response was to ask me if i had any pendulumconcept_ wrote:it annoys me when people dismiss a DJ or constantly bug him to play something else, especially in dance music scenes. Not to say I'm against requests but people tend to dismiss DJing as it is less of a visual art unless you know what they are doing. In dance music especially, a DJ has (or should have) as much to think about as someone playing guitar etc- it is as much of a performance and skill after all. and it's not like people constantly bug a band to play certain song in next genre while they are trying to perform.A Man Called Dave wrote:Thought Ramadanman's set at last FWD was pretty slick, One of the best i've seen in mixing terms.
