for real man... we've had laugh's about that time actually. Dubplate.net was so important to anybody outside of london, because as you remember around 2003-2004, it was really only rinse.fm broadcasting this sound with maybe 10 hourly shows a week. dubway's blog was slowly documenting as many set's as possible, filling in tracklists. boomnoise and a few other's were the key worldwide connection though, because it was all london FM, and dependent on somebody close enough to the signal that was actually recording the set on their mini disc or computer. if boomnoise went out for the night or had a girl round his place, that would mean that the rest of world wouldn't be able to lock to kode 9's show or the roll deep show, or whomever was sending for wiley that week. it was that heavy.

people don't realize how lucky they have it now, because if it wasn't for people like boomnoise, grand and a few other key london heads, the rest of the world wouldn't have known about the sound.

dubway's blog was critical too, because he spent the time actually tracklisting as many shows as he could. And shows that he would miss, i would catch and we'd sort of combine lists once a week. lol

fast forward to 2008 and now, it's hard to find a show that isn't recorded by someone somewhere.....dubstep's playing on 4 stations 24 hours a day...etc etc.

Absolutely on point. This growth owes so much to those early days.
