mp3 player with a line-in is good. altho mine started messing up after a year or 2. got a samsung model and now sometimes it records jumps during recording or just doesnt save the mix at all or turns off halfway thru.

hmm. why isn't there some thing designed for this purpose, little portable thing, line in, hard disk, records in 320kbps, then whack it on your PC. where is this device? hmm?

I get cussed for my recordable minidisc walkman, but this is another reason why i have it, simple as finding an out on the mixer aswell as not losing files.

there is.
just no hardrive; you have to stick your USB memory stick in, or mp3 player/iPod
