You may have seen the thread started by Bainbridge yesterday on DnB arena regarding the recent article in the York Press newspaper.
http://www.thepress.co.uk/news/3574835. ... ty_boozer/
As anyone who knows York or is involved with the underground music scene in the North East will know Uprooted and Tinnitus are both held at "The Junction" and it has quickly become one of the only places in york that we can continue to hold events involving Dubstep, DnB, Hip Hop etc and so we don't want to lose it or all our hard work over the last 2 years will have been for nothing. I have started a petition online (there will be a printed version at Uprooted on Friday and Tinnitus later in the month) and I urge you all to sign it please as it may be our only hope. As many will know the petition regarding Radio Frequency earlier in the year was a great success and I'm hoping that this one can work as well in our favor.

Big ups

As Signus mentioned, The Junction is our only viable venue! the night club's in the city are heavily restricted, even the new live music venue (not recorded music as thats a seperate licence) has struggled to gain it's licence dispite 1000's on facebook and related petition similar to the one we have posted!
The venues able to play recorded music are limited, the junction, fibbers, ziggies. (both fibbers and ziggies simply wont work for what we wont to do) and tru and the gallery both owned by a major chain, not allowing anything other then the same guy each and every friday!
As you may have noticed we run a back room of a pub event, limited to 250 people with a band style soundsystem, and till 1am due to the licence! We work hard to bring events of this nature to people in york on a regular basis! we could travel to leeds or manchester, but that would cost an average of £40+ each time, for that cash in york ya can go out twice!!! that helps build a scene!!! and what we've got is all we've got!
Any support given would be greatly apreciated, as anyone who's been to any of the uprooted and tinnitus events will know, there is no trouble ( the only incident i remember was when a well known individual to the police started kikcking off in the beer garden, this was while we where setting up, and hadn't even opened, so dont know if it count's, also dont think he was there for our night) and we pride ourself's on running a professional operation.
Big up's. Enjoy!
