Should I just post it now?
Please PM it to me and I'll put it in the bible with due credits
.klimaxx wrote:basically, i've been searching the the DSF past threads for hours, and nothing has ever been posted that is relevant, accurate and easy to understand all at once.
I was pretty sure there's at least one relevant thread in which somebody (was it you Wub?) put quite some effort covering the basics so if the original poster is reading this and can find it back...
.klimaxx wrote:i'd be happy to write and possibly create some graphics to introduce musicians to music theory topics such as scales, chords, arpeggios, time signatures, melodies, diminished chords and anything else anyone wants me to do..
Sounds good to me
Browsing a bit made me realize we also need a magazines/books/online resources/... section, adding this to the list.

yeah i did see Wub's one, and i'm going to cover some of the stuff he's covered in his post.
it was just a bit confusing and could have been laid out better (ie with better graphics)
and @ the magazine idea, i agree totally
i've been reading Computer Music (
www.computermusic.co.uk) a lot recently, and it has some great tips. For example this month it has a big in-depth explanation of LFOs and Envelopes that helped me a lot..
It also has videos from top Electronic producers, and they let us in on their production secrets.
Well worth looking in to in my opinion.

Adding sampling, digital audio, midi & rythm theory sections to the list.
What about the comprehensive bass? How would it be different from the basslines section?
i guess it might not be different, i just meant to include all things bass in it. info on sub, things to consider during mixing, processing, how to monitor, theres just so many things to consider when it comes to bass and sub, and it is the defining factor of the genre... i think a lot of time should be spent on this section. a lot of the stuff would possibly crossover into other areas
i can work on a digital audio and MIDI section... and help supplement the other topics people start to put together.

^^^^
Is that FL Studio Bible pdf legal? My guess is that it isn't,

but if it is, we should include it...
Maybe you'd be interested in finding some FL links/threads/articles etc?
Failing that, we can include it in our list of useful books
Thanks!

Wouldn't posting each topic into a different thread be more productive?

also, just had another idea
what about another section in the Production Bible that has good information about music distribution - with good contacts and links?
in this day and age it seems that being a musician is only 10% about writing music, the rest is about distributing it..
maybe some good links to getting cheap plate cutting, as well as a link to TuneCore to get your album on iTunes for cheap.
cheers.

I suggest everybody edit their topics and put a [Production Bible 2] tag infront of their topics, just for the sake of moderation.
