oooh yeah...some good bassline techno tracks would work too!

try

dk-murder was the bass (dk records)
adam beyer - remainings III (original or DK remixes) (drumcode)
dj lenk - 142 ltd (joel mull remix) (drumcode)
mauro picotto & riccardo ferri - alchemist (primate)
adam jay - ornithopter (placktown sounds)

all good bassline heavy tunes that would mix well with some dubstep...

geiom works well with minimal detroit stuff too, as does one of the detroitiest dubstep tunes ever...macabre unit's lift off...

Most technoheads I know are loving dubstep stuff at the moment. However, my experiences of Brazil are that people like it absolutely fucking banging at techno parties there – sad but true. Even when it’s billed as ‘techno right across the spectrum’, most djs just hammer out 150bpm washing machine tackle. Putting a track like Qawwali would most likely clear the floor in most places. Reckon you’d nail it on a Vex’d/Search & Destroy/Hot Flush tip. The new DTL record on Trouble & Bass would go down a storm, along with more beat-driven stuff like DJ Maxximus, DJ Oddz… The Dexorcist has a few tunes on that kinda squelchy garage vibe coming out too.

Having said that, I reckon a lot of dubstep provides excellent mixing material for tracky, minimal techno stuff, as it enhances the bottom end, atmospherics and drum patterns without taking away from the groove.

Just play good, up-for-it tunes, and have a back-up option if it doesn’t seem to be going down well.

Most Tube Jerk stuff too.

^^^ yeah tube jerk is badass.

as far as the concern that dubstep might not go down well for a bangin techno audience, here's a few tips:

do you have any lock groove records? my favorite thing to do is throw down a lock groove and mix in some dubstep underneath it, drop out the 4/4 beat just for the juiciest part of whtever dubstep track you are playing, and then drop the 4/4 back in and just layer both of them throughout. it allows you to keep the techno 4/4 freaks happy, gets that subbass underpinnning, but keeps up the momentum of a techno set.

I've been dropping a few dubstep ones at a techno / electro night with them going down quite well, one that worked with the dubstep goods is:
http://www.juno.co.uk/ppps/products/222 ... %20Maxwell

goes down well with the Planet Mu stuff, which actually works with loads of electro/ techno

justin maxwell has released a lot of excellent material on john tejada's palette imprint in the past two years, sometimes on his own, other times in collaboration with the great & prolific one. his stuff alongside j-p bondy as volsoc on world electric is also worth hearing.

Nah, from the UK, but in the process of moving to Brazil. Was out there until May, but I've had to come back to sort out visa/money issues...
