I hear that. Cant really listen to any songs with a good or deep bass beat. Especially with the eq on. I was listening to benny benassi - whos you daddy and when i had the eq on electronic, it had distortion on it. Even at low volumes. So, something else other than an ipod would do good.

i am need of a new mp3 player as my Samsung has broke :(

cant find it again to buy and everything else out there apart from the ipod has quite small capabilities. and i dislike the fact that the ipods are designed to be outdated and/or broken in less than a year.

any suggestions for a player with wav capability and at least 30gb upwards? and one that shows up as an external hadrdrive so you can just drag and drop as apposed to long-winded software/conversion fuckery.

iPods are a bit shit to be honest, the sound quality on them is fucking crap.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-NWZ-S639FB ... 002&sr=8-1

Get one of these - they shit all over the iPod in terms of sound quality.

Does your drag and drop, and it is amazing sound quality (read the reviews). Only 16GB though :?

I left mine on the tube or something

I've had a 30gb Creative Zen for about 3 years and no issues. It just uses a explorer type program to drag and drop files onto it and it takes a lot of different files. Battery life isn't bad and sound is good.

In defense to the ipod i've had the ipod video 30 gb for about 3 years now, i've dropped it countless times, lost it at an illegal rave at a beach where it was found in the sand by a friend of a friend and returned safely back to me in full working order, its had a couple ofproblems which meant i've wiped it and put all my tunes back on but if anything i like doing that as i can put on only the stuff i want back on it as my taste changes all the time.

However if i was to get another mp3 player i would probably go for the creative zen, they look cool and you dont have to use itunes with them, itunes used to be a favourite of mine but apple seem to be turning into such stnuc its untrue, their updates are endless and the last one i did has meant that you can no longer use itunes as a wav to mp3 converter which is a right pain in the arse.

nice one people. i was just looking at those actually. wish they held more gb.

people have also said nothing but good things about the creative zens in the past also.

annoys me that the big capacity ipods have out shadowed all the other companies from even bothering to make anything that big any more. everything 'new' and non-ipod doesnt seem to store too much. gonna have to dig a little to find older (but still new) players

must admit I've had my ipod comming on it's third year without any problems, 60gb video... served me really well, use daily, I also like itunes find it very user friendly when all your tunes are correctly tagged for filtering down artists genres, albums and the like... can quickly find someting in my 78gb aac library... it's not holding all I want it to so looking to upgrade in the future... as it's nice to have the full collection to hand I probably will get another ipod to replace my current one...

that and all my music are aac's I have ripped from all my cd's and vinyls.

;)...

same here, i love mine and would definitely recommend it

and as for using itunes it won't be a problem other than that you have to drag and drop files onto the explorer thing that datman mentioned rather than syncing it through itunes, so if you have your library organised by itunes in its stupid way then finding files might be difficult

has the line in record function aswell so well handy if ur playing out and wanna record a set...
This.

Had an 8Gb Zen for a year or so before I got my iPhone. I much preferred the Zen as a player, but it's nice only having one thing to carry around now.

Well, I figured fuck it i'll give em a try...and so far so good!
8gb mp3 player, with browsy screen thing (just dragged and dropped like 70 albums on it and they're all well layed out by album etc) and apparently up to 7 hours battery life...for 20 quid!

So far, WELL happy :D (give it 6 months though )

Oh, but EVERYTHING about it is French lol. Packaging, manual, options on the actual player...everything
