What was the audio Smurf posted a link to?

I actually quite like it.

But I never stroked my beard, just nodded my head in a appreciative fashion.

It's a fucking quality tune alex, I played it right at the end of Ruffage. Second last tune of the night :) Pure vibes, and a HEAVY bassline.

It's on the latest Skull Disco release - Blood on my Hands by Shackleton.

Smurf - silly boy :P

Try digging a bit deeper and you'll find many quality releases from the past couple of years.

The tunes listed are just scratching the surface.

I already have an idea who are the big boys of the scene if you wish to call that way, so i know what to look out for, when it comes down to the quality. I just what some deep-heavy bass to rock my mp3 player etc...

Nuff said. Why would anyone expect someone like this to appreciate something as good as a Shackleton tune?

Jungle and hardcore tend to be busier, "fuller", and more rythmically complex than your average dubstep track; Shackleton's tunes are a textbook example of maximum groove using minimal sounds. If your ears are accustomed to hearing lots of elements filling up a track, someone like Shackleton probably won't do it for you. Hence all the "boring" remarks. That's what I took it to mean anyway...

I don't have any recommendations which haven't already been mentioned in this thread. :)

Yeah you're probably right. I just can't imagine why anyone would still want to mix hardcore, and tell people that's what they do. Don't get me wrong, I love hardcore, '89 - 93 all the way. The newer stuff is some of the worst music committed to vinyl though, as is a lot of post-2001 DnB. I guess my point was that someone who chooses to mix hardcore and jungle is unlikely to "get" Shackleton.

my recommendations are on Hot Flush

there are some wicked releases on that label.

personally favourites

Luke.Envoy - Honour Kill/Gamma
Distance - 1 on 1
Eric H- The Lights
Scuba - Twista/Plate

also a label that doesnt get mentioned much as its not known as a dubstep label, Planet Mu.

Some good grime releases such as Virus Syndicate and Mark One.

also a wicked Distance tune Traffic/Cyclops HEEAAAVYYYY
