ive accually stopped using synths for bass,
what i do is i have the common wave forms (sine, square, triangle, saw) generated from audacity, bounced them down to a wav file, and just load them up into simpler in ableton.....its just works for me, and i feel like i have more control over the sound.
but thats just me

it's free, it has a great interface, it uses very little CPU and sounds great as well.

your Reaktor array is immense!
thats from the NI site of bundled synths, my own collection of instruments and synths would probably require it's own website

i have got literally gigabytes of them.
Care to share a few reaktor patches?
I made my own granular synth in reaktor about a year back in college studying music tec. (im now doing a degree)

Reaktor is the illness..
Also, sampled synths of almost any kind. Resampling makes for some of the sickest bass manipulation. and generally uses less CPU.

I haev about 6 built right now and focusing on building a new one over the coming weeks that I may actually try to promote further than passing it to friends. Finally delving in to the core structure and I am having way too much fun with it.

I am kinda in between. I like to play around with a synth until I get something I am feeling then I'll bounce to wave for further mangling in a sampler. I don't think it gives you more control, it's just the way I have always done stuff.
My favorite synth seems to change every week. Been digging the Sylenth. It just fucking sounds great. Looks pretty cool too.

I like whatever synth does best what I'm trying to do at the moment... Albino, Junglist, SubHuman... but the all-time favorite that's never let me down (for bass, pads - anything at all) isn't a plug: it's the Juno 60 I bought on the street 13 years ago for $35.

i think resampling works best for Twisty DNB synths, but if you are going for a really nasty warping type bass sound you might want that

What's the deal here? Resampling whole phrases? Effecting a single note, resampling, effecting again? Explain?
Thanks.
