Doesn't surprise me either just because you kind of get an idea what everyone is using from browsing the forum. I thought Reason might get more votes. Poll is still young tho.

Cubae, Used it for years. I first started using logic a long time ago but it was only with a mate who had it. I used reason when it first came out (rewired to cubase) and I have had to use FL a few times but just dont like it (or its sound)

Used FL for a couple of years then moved on to Ableton Live. :)

Cubase all the way for as my fav sequencer, tho Reasons synths and samplers are wicked I hate the sequencer so bounce audio out.
Cubase is great for manipulating audio, but I dont like using many VSTs coz it rapes my CPU. I try to stick to using only Massive, a few FX and random things i'd of pulled off the Internet/Computer Music DVDs

I sometimes rewire logic and reason together for synths such as thor and occasionally maelstrom, but i mostly use logic straight up with a shit load of instruments and plugins.

Anyone used T-Racks 3 yet? Its sounds amazing, the vintage compressor and pultec EQ sound lush!

Wanna Use Logic
Wish I had a Mac. Ive heard loads of people say Logic isn't user friendly. Looks tons easier than cubase to me.

Verson 7 was fairly un user friendly, but logic 8 has been made easier to to basic things. Although i prefer verson 7 as its a bit more clear and sharp. Logic 8 bundles everything together in one window, which i hate. It makes the whole layout cluttered.

Fruity loops, sooo much of a user-friendly interface, I can find everything quickly and with no hassle at all, and it's really an underrated program, you can do lots of things with it if you get to know it.

But Sony Acid for all my audio editing, like if I wanna blend something or chop some vocals up, really good program for those type of things but I think it's horrible for actually composing music on.

I use ableton for all my vocal chopping/stretching. Nothing sounds quite as good as the ableton timestrech

That's true.

I've tried nearly every sequencer on the planet and can say with all certainty, that for me, FL is a clear winner. I LOVE the non-liner sequencing and editing on the arrangement page. Not to mention the beat slicer which is an absolute go-to for me. It's just so quick and easy to set up and get to a workable toolset in next to no time. I know there are other sequencers that have features that I'd love to have in FL, but the trade off and pros/cons for me to use FL are just too staggeringly overwhelming in it's favor.

I will say, I've been using Ableton more and more lately and have to say, it's an incredible piece of software, which is extremely intuitive and flexible. I've been using it for mixes, Live PA and also been tinkering with rewiring FL into it which was cool but somewhat of a pain in the ass. I will defo. continue using it for those uses. One thing I discovered that somewhat annoyed me, was upon purchasing Live for my mac, I realized that many of the very useful tools and addons were only available if purchased. I was actually shocked to learn that, with all of the addons and shit the fully-loaded version of Live cost over $1000 :o

Anyways, all modern sequencers are good, it's all a matter of preference (and FL rules! :D)

LOGIC KREW!! BLAP BLAP PLAB

...But no, seriously I find Logic (Pro 8 ) has the perfect mix of usability and functions, compared to other DAW's. Also you get a hell of a load of stuff for your £300; 50GB + of samples etc.
