the main body of a track gets done in 3 or 4 hours and then i take a break from it and return maybe the next day or sometimes even sooner if i get an idea for it... the longest i've spent on a track would be around a week i think.

Interesting topic!

I dont knwo if many people know this, maybe you all do but I found it very interesting and apply it to my production all the time now.

Right Vs Left brain activity!

Simply put.... One side is creative and one is technical! So when building either work in pairs, one playing the melodie, getting the musical side down and the other tweeks and does the technical side!

When producing you either get stuff down, doesnt matter if its not fitting right just keep selecting sounds, creating patterns and melodies and focus on getting all your elements in and once you have most of the sounds for your tune then get technical!

I dunno if anyone knew it but from a point of productivity its done me the world of good! If I'm in the mood for creating something new I just got with it now and when I'm done playing I'll go back to an oolder track and get down and dirty with it!

Helped me! I believe it was in a book Distance advised me to get, I'll dig it out for yaz!
