this is the lamest thread. let me put it in perspective - just cuz the rolling stones, beatles, and zeppelin made blues and rock popular means that all bands from then to now playing music are shit because they didnt "stick to their roots"? fuck off. listen to the music you like, and talk about that, not what artists are doing wrong. you're just looking for attention so you can call your mates over and say "dude look at how many people are responding to my post"

Reminds me of a tale my grandad told me. He went to this Dali exhibition, everyone was busting moustaches and jackets, and then this bunch of Impressionists walked in all like "What's that, an elephant?", squeaking around in their moccasins. He said he stopped going to exhibitions after that and the scene died anyway.

I don't care if it goes mainstream or not.. Just as long as it maintains the underground sound and the current attitude people have at raves.

DID's 'Stop the growth of the Dubstep scene' action plan:
Get the government to issue everyone who has been into dubstep for over a year a 'dubstep card' or 'D-Card'. Anyone caught listening to dubstep without a D-Card wil be shot.
Shoot Skream for doing well for himself and producing songs good enough to get into the charts.
Limit every release to 1 dubplate pressing so that if it does start becoming popular it will have worn out.
Stop throwing Dubstep nights so that people can no longer enjoy the sound, therefore halting growth.
Introduce a worldwide ban on Low Frequency Oscillators.

Its better if anything... When I was gettin into Dubstep, I could barely find any raves to go to (locally), no local shops where selling vinyl and you weren't able to find CDs in HMV.
On the other hand, all the vinyl I want from chemical-records won't be sold out all the time
But im glad its growing. If it didn't then I wouldn't of heard of it, neither would you or half the people on this forum

Its too late, my mum keeps texting into Rinse calling for the reload on Eastern Jam. I tried to play her a Mala tune and she put her hands over her ears and started singing Snoop Dogg Millionare to herself.

if you think about it dubstep didnt get the 'mainstream' treatment other urban genres whent through, and i dont see why people shouldnt enjoy the genre anyway, but its right that a genre can get too popular or whatever, but i dont think this has happened to dubstep yet.

There will be bits that get huge but the day I hear a Mala track on the radio
I just can't imagine Radio1 listeners really getting it.
