think thats already happened if not going to happen.
certain old skool garage people who have moved into house play very good music, deep, prog, tribal, soulful house and and even some techno, when your playing and constantly listening to these sounds they open worlds to your ears and the genres are home to some of the most acclaimed producers and djs in the world, then, you hear some of these funky tracks, specially all thes skank ones, ones with not great vocalists, its hard to relate to that and even harder to relate to people that call it ''Funky House''. This isnt a dig at funky or the scene, i listen to baile funk, and that music is a lot more terribly produced, made and mixed than even the worst funky tunes!
Im not totally in agreement with UK house banner either, shops like blackmarket, reckless, VJ's and Phonica have had UK House racks in their stores for years, the end of the day its all house, do you think any of our more talented new generation of producers guy robin or wbeeza sit about saying im making a ''uk house track'' i dont!! its all house, its all love.

Interesting blog-

I have already stated the importance of Producers and DJs filtering out the overly commercial, MC lyrics, and wah wah blines (remember UK Garage..) because a few of these tunes crossing it will result in 1000 imitations and lead people to think this is house- when it aint!

I think the current scene has a lot of diverse sounds heavy house, killer vocal tracks with bline and melody to tracks bordering on Techno even the
examples in the blog i.e. Hardhouse Banton’s Sirens, Crazy Cousins’ Do you Mind, Geeneus's As I etc are all very different strains of house

The bottom line is quality threshold- DJs who have taste will no doubt have more longevity than the bandwagon jumpers. I also hope to hear some of the old skool bangers mixed in with the newer tracks- its easy enough to listen to and get the tracks (I mentioned some in the US v UK thread) - taste will differentiate the great producers & DJs from the good.

Whats exciting is the new music and energy in the clubs- this is get down and sweat music!

Not certain another sub genre is required- As far as I'm concerned there is House, Techno, Garage- everything since (especially here in the UK) is a derivative... Thats maybe another debate though..

The blog mentioned invasion records- yesterdays show from fingaprint on rinse included a few including a tune called free- BAD- If this label maintains this level it can only be positive

Have to say the Marcus show from 8th March did contain some incredible music from the Miss Fire track to those almost Chicago tracks at the end. I also heard him in a club last weekend and for the most part he was consistent and played TUNEs

matter is alright...... saw move d and dj koze there, had a good night, nuff women, good system upstairs. security were all good with us. kinda long to get back from in the morning though but its worth it in my opinion.

im not even gonna comment on the whole circle thing cause tippa kismet ic feva r some of the biggest names in uk house in my eyes ad always throw a big party what ever rave they are at. be it the dark room (fwd) or a circle rave they do it right every time!!!

Talking/Blogging/Opinions... it's all long.

Allow ANOTHER genre coming out of LDN. It's just ego.

Let the music and events do the talking. Everything else is just Air.

DJ's and music 'journalists' shd do better than encouraging this type of thing.

Big up everyone into real house music - before there were 17 sub divisions to fight over.

Being tracking down a fair few old Karizma and Gregory beats recently. Anyone recommend any other complete badman producers on a similar tip?
Dennis Ferrer definately, some of the Abicah Soul stuff, Bodhi Satva, Afefe Iku would fit in with this stuff I think.

Nice article - good to hear people standing by their words. I do kinda think there is a bit of 'emporors new clothing' in some of these new genres though, I mean Dj Gregory et al have been at it for a hell of a long time - did they know they were creating new genres all those years ago?
