I was wondering if anybody knows who did that "bass too dark" tune, heard it on a mix here ages ago and thought it worth tracking down.

Any ideas?

No, it was an earlier tune, heard it on 2 step/early dubstep/breakstep mix that was up here (of which I have too many to plow through at the moment). Remember it having quite a rude bassline surprisingly...

This topic should be in the general dubstep discussion. This forum wouldn't exist w/o those tunes.

just got mj cole - sincere remixes in the post today

MJ's Dubb 2000 is so fucking ruff, he was such an utter badman

i also very much underestimated the wookie remix, absolutely huge, very twisted vibe

quality artwork too, beautiful presentation all round

wot about M Dubs - 'Over You'?

heavy, heavy stepper - skeletal beats with big bass stabs and freaked out sounds...

also another M Dubs one... cant remember the name but has female vox saying 'can u feel the bassline'... more proto-dubstep business?

just checked that out, its a fat tune

on another note

someone should do a screwed and chopped mixtape of 2step, have you heard how deep it sounds at 33?! with vocal tracks its gets so twisted. some of the vestaxes with the ridiculous pitch adjustment would be handy

i love the wookie remix..
'hold on to me' original/remixes aswell, came as a double pack with El-B's 'Bandelros Desperado' (vocal by fallacy/instrumental mixes)..

Yeah, that's a killer tune. Came out just as the 'breakstep'/heavy bass sound was coming into UK Garage. I just pulled this tune out, but unfortunately it's just a white label with no artist listed.

Antonio-Hyperfunk is still one of my fav. 2-step tunes of all time.

The MJ Cole remix of 'just say it' by Blood is another big time personal fav. No sub-bass, but some serious funk. memories...
