I really dont want to sound like a dick but I have always thought Burial was more like dark, ambient 2Step/Garage than dubstep.

Mount Kimbie
Untold
Scuba
Mala Digital Mystikz
Matty G(mellower but heavy peep. Strollin and Bitter Love)
Vaccine
COTK
Breakage (Rain is mellow murda yo!)
Pangaea
Al-Haca(Kryptonite TRG RMX)
Dusk and Blackdown

Really there's a whole world of Dubstep music out there so vast and different than the mainstream stuff with the hard bangin filtered bass and the wobbles. Personally I love so many different sounds and thats why dubstep is so great, it's BIG! All-spanning and multi-faceted music pulling from jazz, hip-hop, gangsta rap, death metal, breaks, d'n'b, Guy Ritchie films(hehe), ambient, down-tempo, etc, etc. ad-infintum. The real question is how big is your brain and are you exploring everything you can within the boundaries that already exist or are you exploring this music from outside of the boundaries that already exist and creating new spaces for those behind to help perfect and expand upon?

Check out Pandai'a's myspace and get her Feb 09 mix

I hold her musical taste in very high regards when it comes to life outside the box.

This list is everything I love about the 'other' side of Dubstep.

Mount Kimbie's work is so, so original and enlivening. Check out their mix on Electronic Explorations. Quiet an eye opener!

Yeah, Mount Kimbie, Jus Wan, Martyn, Pangaea, Peverelist (sometimes) all get my vote... love this side of things.

And if you'll excuse the plug (!), there's a vocal tune called Slow Collider on my Soundcloud that is nicely chilled and summery. You can find the thread about it here: http://www.dubstepforum.com/viewtopic.p ... 70#1137470

:)

Cheers!

Thats about it. None of the others can even hold up.

Not that the others are not amazing, tortoise is just next level jazz.
