C&S are one hell of dnb & dubstep producers, and I wish them all the luck and hope that they'll still do some good music.
Massive fail of a post.

C&S to Mercury is a bad move for all concerned IMO.

it's been a joy to witness this forum gradually deteriorate thanks to all the haters and bedroom shit talkers who love to take cheap shots at people who've actually accomplished something. thanks for making dubstepforum a little more irrelevant with each passing day. :(

hahaha, that's true

dont really see how they're going to get £££ considering (as far as I am aware) that majors "loan" artists money expecting it to come back in sales (which dnb & dubstep dont really produce). Like some1 else said they received enough press through ram as it is.

surely they'll make more money off collabs with people like snoop rather than just signing with Mercury

chase and status have no talent, originality, theyre just v good producers, whereas someone like silkie has HUGE talent and lots of originality, yet c + s are signed to a major label and silkie isnt, thats why the music industry is fucked
IMO

A list of their new label buddies:

I'd still rather be with SubFocus, Xample and Lomax and have Andy C as my boss...

Well done C&S.
Its only really a shame for RAM IMO, but its the way of the world.

C&S have got an amazing grasp of what it takes to make big dancefloor orientated music, and I say fair play to them for taking what has been offered and what they have worked hard to earn.

It wasn't hard to see that America would be all over them too after the Snoop thing, and that Kano track that was getting hammered on mainstream radio for months. Surely getting signed to a major and getting that kind of recognition is most artists' dream. It's just a shame that nowadays people (particularly on internet forums :P ) don't seem to see any distinction at all between "Making it" and "selling out". As long as they continue to follow their own vision in making the kind of music they want to, and hopefully don't get forced into churning out Eastern Jam parts 3, 4, and 5 then I say fair play to them.

My 2 pence also - We had them play in Bristol earlier this year and they absolutely took the roof off the club, the whole place was going batshit, lighters in the air and everything. Now that may not be what some of the beardstrokers and backpackers like, but you have to still respect someone who can make tunes that have that effect on a dancefloor. Plus whatever the haters say, most of y'all can't deny having liked Eastern Jam, Saxon etc the first time you heard them (or at least being impressed by the sound). Also, they seem to be just as capable of making many different genres and styles: D&B, Dubstep, or Hiphop when they want to, and that is a rare talent amongst producers and one that deserves major recognition (and a major label deal if that's what comes).

like someone said, there good producers but not exceedingly creative all the time. they could make music under a new name but it aint a new talent. :|

fair play to them, i hope they go far.

to all the hating crew, stop bloody whinging. they dropped a shitload of wicked tunes, which presumably you enjoyed, now they've got the chance to maybe make a living out of it. sales of 50,000? it's hardly fucking U2, is it?

Chirst some of you people are a little harsh. I mean I am sure I have said a thing or two about them but I have dropped one or two of their tunes so WTF? They are pretty good at what they do imo. Not the most original act but there aren't many original acts in pop music so I am sure it will work out for them as a major label act. Good luck to 'em. It shows that there still is a chance that you can make something of yourself doing this music. I would sell out in a heartbeat if I had the chance. I can't fucking stand my day job. Making shite music all day would be 1000x better than this.

Chase and Status on the same label as 'Hanson' :?

Fair play though! Good luck to em in the future! Wicked producers

LMAO Mercury definitely won't let them give it up now!

C & S have no credibility whatsoever.

That they're the first act to be signed to a major is lame beyond all belief
your right! only producers with indie cred should sign to big labels, oh, wait, then they wouldn't be indie any more. and you would have to stop liking them. what a conundrum. hey did you guys know this debate died in the 90's?
